Rates & Insurance

Investing in Your Therapy

Beginning therapy is an investment in your emotional health, relationships, and overall well-being. I believe it is important for you to understand the cost of therapy and your payment options before getting started.

Below you’ll find information about session fees, out-of-network insurance benefits, and other ways you may be able to use your benefits toward the cost of therapy.

Therapy Rates

Individual Therapy — $180 50-minute session

Couples Therapy — $235 50-minute session

Longer sessions may be available when clinically appropriate. Fees vary based on the length of the session.

If you are interested in longer, concentrated sessions, I also offer EMDR Therapy Intensives. You can learn more about intensive therapy and current options on my EMDR Intensives page.

Insurance & Out-of-Network Benefits

I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not participate directly with insurance companies as an in-network therapist.

However, many insurance plans include out-of-network mental health benefits that may reimburse you for a portion of the cost of therapy after your deductible has been met.

Depending on your plan, this can significantly reduce your overall out-of-pocket cost.

Because every insurance plan is different, I recommend contacting your insurance company and asking:

  • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?

  • Do I have an out-of-network deductible?

  • How much of my deductible has already been met?

  • What percentage of an outpatient psychotherapy session is reimbursed after my deductible is met?

  • Is there a limit on the number of therapy sessions covered each year?

  • Do I need preauthorization or a referral for outpatient mental health services?

Help With Out-of-Network Claims

Navigating insurance reimbursement can feel confusing, so I try to make the process as straightforward as possible.

For some insurance plans, I am able to submit out-of-network claims on your behalf upon request. Please ask me if you would like to know whether this is available with your particular insurance plan.

I have also partnered with Mentaya, a service that helps clients determine whether they have out-of-network benefits and estimate potential reimbursement.

You can use the benefits calculator below to see what your insurance plan may reimburse for therapy.

Please keep in mind that estimates are not a guarantee of insurance reimbursement. Your insurance company ultimately determines coverage and payment.

HSA & FSA Accounts

Therapy may also be an eligible expense for a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA).

HSA and FSA cards are accepted for payment.

Why Choose Private-Pay or Out-of-Network Therapy?

For some clients, working with an out-of-network therapist provides greater flexibility in choosing a clinician based on specialization, experience, and therapeutic fit rather than limiting their search to therapists within an insurance network.

My practice focuses on helping adults and couples navigate concerns including betrayal trauma, infidelity and affair recovery, trauma, relationship difficulties, and other emotionally complex life experiences. I also provide EMDR therapy and EMDR intensives when those approaches are appropriate for a client's needs.
